Heated Bamboo/Rattan

In South East Asia the use of bamboo has been a vital part of everyday life. No one knows who started using bamboo or rattan to treat tired muscles but it was only natural that they would fashion massage tools out of the materials that had come to signify good luck, long life, friendship, peace and harmony.

Today those tools have been redesigned and fused with updated body-therapy techniques. Because the tools cover such a broad area at one time, they afford some of the most effective and enjoyable work imaginable on trouble areas such as neck, shoulders, back and legs.

Rattan/Bamboo tools are heated during the session; and because the tools are so smooth, they feel like the therapist’s hand. The result is the client experiences the feel of the therapist’s hand but with the added benefit of heat.

Techniques: a single session could include combining heated bamboo/rattan body therapy with acupressure, reflexology, traditional Chinese or Swedish massage and aroma therapy.
